What is Yoga?
Yoga is far more than just a physical practice of holding postures and balancing. Yoga is the practice of joining the mind-body and spirit together. In this fast paced age of doing our brains become dissociated from our bodies. We may not even be aware when this is happening because in essence that is what dissociation is, being unaware of our bodies. Yoga literally meaning “union” or “merging two into one” is the practice of bringing our body-mind and spirit back into connection.
Connecting with our human development through a series of 7 paintings

Following the path of chakras through the body-mind in this series I tie human development with teachings from ancient Hindu sacred texts and expound my own personal beliefs and mystery. Each painting represents the primary attributes and elemental qualities of the chakra being depicted. The first four chakras illustrate an asana (pose) which closely relates to the chakra qualities or activates the chakra. The last three chakras illustrate the more subtle qualities. read more...
