Memorial Art FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Ordering

-How do I order?
Message me. Either through this website or send to [email protected] I typically respond within 24 hours.

-How can I get you my flowers or other inclusions?
They can be either shipped or drop off in Warwick, RI. For photos you can e-mail the file to [email protected]

Dried Flowers

-Do you need fresh flowers?
Yes and No. For fresh flowers, I prefer to dry the flowers myself for best results. The best results for preserving the most authentic colors, shapes and textures of your flowers is to dry the freshest blooms possible. It is very important that the flowers are kept cool, hydrated in water and delivered as soon as possible. Friends or family members can also deliver, ship or courier the flowers if you are not available. To aid the flowers to take up more water it is also very helpful to recut the stems. Please note that wilted, bruised, discolored or crushed petals cannot be reversed in the preservation process. Replacement flowers can be purchased from your florist if some of the blooms are too damaged to preserve.
I can also use previously dried flowers but they cannot contain any mold. Also please note the colors may not be as vibrant as fresh flowers.

Other Questions

-How long does a resin preservation piece last?
Clear casting resin can keep intact for a lifetime with proper care. To maintain its quality: Keep away from direct sunlight, Clean with a soft, dry cloth.

-I want to make this myself. Can you tell me how to do it?
While it is a nice idea to make such a sentimental piece yourself, I do not recommend it due to the nature of resin work. I recommend leaving it to a professional. Resin can be fickle due to environmental factors. Most professional resin artists have skills to ensure successful castings.

Important Notes

I take the utmost care in creating your beautiful preservation, but because is this is a handmade process sometimes using very fragile botanical ingredients and other inclusions, some small bubbles, imperfections and transparent spots can be expected.
All epoxy resin will eventually amber over time. To delay the process, please keep your piece away from heat or direct sunlight, as you would with any piece of art or original painting.
Since I cast real dried flowers, the colors will differ from when they were fresh, and when cast in resin, you may see spots or bruising on the petals where they were handled. Please note that bruising or petal discoloration is a natural result of the drying and handling process and is not considered a defect or valid reason for a refund.
Additionally, tropical flowers—such as calla lilies, anthuriums, and similar high-moisture blooms—tend to brown more easily and can change color drastically during the preservation process. This is a natural and unavoidable part of working with these flower types, and as such, we cannot offer refunds due to natural browning or discoloration. We do our best to arrange preserved flowers in the most flattering and balanced way possible, based on their final condition after drying.

CC Fee Notice

If you use a credit card, we will charge an additional 3% fee to help offset processing costs. This is not more than we pay in fees.
